Denis Scanlon, 76, of Ontario passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.
He was born May 7, 1937, to Thomas and Catherine (Lacey) Scanlon in Illinois. Denis worked as a teacher in the Chicago area for many years. Following his retirement, he moved to Ontario.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Scanlon of Chicago; two nieces, Peggy (Matt) Lovrich of Midlothian, Ill., and Rose (Rick) Bays of Waldron, Mich.; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaitlin and Matthew Lovrich, both of Midlothian, Ill., Jamie Calhoun and Jesse Calhoun, both of Waldron, Mich., and Danielle Purcell of Moses, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Catherine, and a brother, Richard Scanlon.
