The Monroe County Land Conservation Department will host its CWD Summit from 2–5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Wilton American Legion Hall, 508 Walker St.

DNR biologists, landowners and hunters will offer information on the history of CWD in Wisconsin and its current status; the 2022 deer season structure and opportunities; and CWD best-management practices.

Also, hands-on learning opportunities will be available, such as removing lymph nodes for CWD testing, using a CWD sampling kiosk, and aging your deer.

Free venison Sloppy Joes will be provided at the end of the summit, and refreshments will be available.

Along with the land conservation department, the Monroe County CWD Task Force, the DNR, and Fort McCoy are sponsoring the event.
