By the Juneau County Health Department
Starting Jan. 25, people who are 65 or older are eligible for Covid-19 vaccination. This is one of the first large openings in vaccine priorities.
The Juneau County Health Department and Mile Bluff Medical Center have been encouraged by the amount of people who want the Covid-19 vaccine. It is likely that initially we will have more interest in vaccination than we will have doses of vaccine to give. If it were possible, we would immunize everyone in phase 1B right away. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to vaccinate everyone at once, but we will continue to do all we can to get the vaccine to everyone who wants it.
If you go to Mile Bluff Medical Center as your local provider, staff will call you directly to set up your appointment. If you go to another local provider, please check its website for its process before calling.
If you do not have a local provider, call the Juneau County Health Department at (608) 847-9279. We started scheduling Covid-19 vaccine appointments the week of Jan. 25.
Please be patient with your healthcare provider and public health as we work to meet the vaccine demand. We are dependent on the vaccine supply allocated to us weekly.
As the vaccine rolls out in Wisconsin, it is still important to keep up on the other effective strategies to fight Covid-19. Remember to wear your mask, keep your circle small, socially distance, and wash your hands frequently. Together we can build immunity in our community. Learn more at www.milebluff.com/togetherwecan.
