Coletta R. Schreier, 70, of Cashton passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born Nov. 25, 1939, in the town of Sheldon, Monroe County, to Joseph and Olga (Petzke) Schmitz.

She was married to Norbert Schreier on Aug. 18, 1962, at St. Mary’s Ridge Catholic Church, and they made their home in Cashton. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton and the Parish Council of Catholic Women choir.

Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and listening to music, especially organ music played by her son, Mark.

Survivors include her husband, Norbert; one son, Mark of Roanoke, Va; one daughter, Janine (Howard) Black of Mundelein, Ill.; one grandson, Matthew of Roanoke; three sisters, Evelyn (George) Walz of Yorkville, Ill., Lorraine (James) Bardeen of Bangor and Evangeline (William) Burch of Franksville, Wis.; along with nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin, who died as a young child May 28, 1972; and two brothers, Joseph, an infant, and La Verne and his wife, Lorraine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, with burial following in the church cemetery. Father Parr will officiate. Friends may call at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton on from 4–7 p.m. Monday, with a rosary 7 p.m., and from 10–10:45 a.m. Tuesday.
