Buddy “Bud” L. Speicher, 87, of Wilton passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home, surrounding by his loving family.
Bud was born July 3, 1937, in Fredericksburg, Iowa, to Earl and Verla (Haag) Speicher. He attended country schools and later high school in Fredericksburg. He was united in marriage with Lila M. Munson in Jerico, Iowa, on May 14, 1960. They moved to Wilton, Wis., in 1964, where they would remain. Bud would begin working in the trucking business and truck repair. Later, Bud began his own business, Speicher Trucking. In 1981, Bud and Lila would begin farming until they retired on their home farm outside of Wilton.

Bud was a lifetime member of the Wilton Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed playing cards and shooting trap. He also enjoyed his time spent with family and friends on yearly deer hunts. As a self-taught mechanic, Bud enjoyed repairing tractors, which later evolved into repairing lawnmowers. Bud would often be found in his home shop, occupying his time woodworking.
Bud and Lila just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Bud and Lila were blessed with five children: Terry Speicher, Robert (Sara) Speicher, Ronald Speicher, Brenda (Tony) Winchel, and Cheryl (Derek) Fenner. Their blessing continued with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He survived by his loving wife, Lila; his children, Robert, Ronald, Brenda, and Cheryl; his sisters, Barb, Marlys and Earlene; and his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Verla; his brother, Chuck; and a son, Terry.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 401 Mill St., Wilton. Pastor Karen Sparling will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Sunday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The Smith-Nelson/Sonnenburg Funeral Home is assisting the family.
