Brent Allen Seekamp passed away on October 8, 2023, at the age of 52. He was born Jan. 19, 1971, to David and Judy (Schroeder) Seekamp.
Professionally, Brent was a talented drywaller who took great pride in his work. His dedication and skill led him to establish his own construction business. His work was not merely a job, but a testament to his creativity and an expression of his passion for creating things with his hands.
Brent had a love for the outdoors that was infectious. An avid fisherman, he spent many peaceful hours by the water’s edge, rod in hand. His creativity spilled over into this hobby as well; Brent was known for making his own fishing lures, each one a unique piece of art. Hunting was another passion of his, and he spent many memorable days in the wilderness, appreciating the beauty of nature.
He is survived by his parents, David and Judy of Ontario; his brother, Thad (Anna) Seekamp of California; his aunts and uncles, Joe (Tammy) Schroeder of Kent, Wash., Dave (Sandy) Schroeder of Westby, Wis., Annette (Al) Strazdins of Cashton, Pat Schroeder of La Crosse, Tom (Carol) Schroeder of New Berlin, Nancy Steinhoff of Aurora, Colo., Frank (Sharon Schroeder) of Colorado, Ruth (Mark) Bue of Sparta, Susan (Chuck) Suhr of Westby, Jane (Brian) Wood of Eau Claire, Nick (Jean) Schroeder of Cashton, Jackie (Steve) Myers of Mauston, Barb Fritz of Florida, John Seekamp of Black River Falls, Margie (Lenny) Wruk of West Bend, Nancy Ulik of Jacksonville, Fla., Erwin (Edie) Seekamp of Milwaukee, Eugene Seekamp of La Crosse, Roger Seekamp of Sparta, Dan (Deb) Seekamp of Bangor, Carol (fiancé Tony) Tischer of Mayville, Gary Seekamp of Sparta, Elaine Bender of Baraboo, Tammy Kusak of Milwaukee, Tom Seekamp of Milwaukee, Eddie Seekamp Sparta, Terry (Rick) Martens of Green Bay, Sherry (Chris) Wilkenson of Kentucky, and Katherine Seekamp of Iowa; along with many other relatives, cousins and friends.
Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Joseph Schroeder and Thelma and Owen Seekamp; and his aunts and uncles, Roger Geier, James, Donald, Robert, Pauly, Russell, Vernon, and Keith Seekamp, Helen Sfranik, and Ruth Peth.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario, Wis. Pastor Bob Streeter will preside. Burial will follow in the Billings Creek Cemetery, rural Ontario, Wis. Family and friends are invited for visitation Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
