Billy R. Baldwin, 71, of rural Hillsboro, Wis., passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 9, 1949, to George “Dick” and Edith (Roach) Baldwin in the town of Forest, Vernon County. He graduated with the Hillsboro High School class of 1967.

Billy was united in marriage to Esther Wilson on Aug. 1, 1981, at Burr Wesleyan Church.  

He was a lifelong farmer in the town of Forest, beginning with his father and continuing until recently. He enjoyed feeding the animals and the birds and had a great love for his grandkids.

 He was a member of the Burr Wesleyan Church and previously was a director of youth and taught Sunday school at Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Esther; his children, Amanda (Andrew) Ottum, Bryan (Sandy) Baldwin and Tina (Matt) Yoder; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Emma, Aiden, Elizabeth, Ranae, Jacob, Karina, Karissa and Krystal; his mother, Edith; and his siblings, Ilene (Myron) Ledvina, Danny (Donna) Baldwin, Sharon Fiske, Jerry Baldwin, Peter Baldwin, Katherin (Gordon) Roesler, Molly (Timothy) Pettit and Christy (Dennis) Larsen.

He was preceded in death by his father, George “Dick” Baldwin; his brother-in-law, Michael Fiske; and his granddaughter, Hannah Joy Ottum.

A time of visitation with social distancing will take place from 4–7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Burr Wesleyan Church, and a graveside service will be Saturday, Dec. 12, at about 11 a.m. in the Forest–Burr Cemetery.
