A benefit for 58-year-old Dale DeWitt, a rural Ontario who recently was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, is set for Saturday, June 10, at the Rockton Bar.

Activities will start at 11 a.m. and will include a silent auction, Chinese raffle, tip boards and other games of chance. The live auction will begin at 3 p.m.

A press release prepared by DeWitt’s family states, “Dale is a husband, father, and papa to a large family. He has a heart of gold and an energetic sense of humor. Dale has owned his own logging business for a few decades and has passed his love of logging onto his son and grandson. Dale has enjoyed the time that he has spent outdoors, taking grandkids hunting and fishing. Dale has been the glue that holds them all together and thrives on the special bond they have for one another. Dale has chosen to spend what time he has left with family and friends.”
