Despite the fickle weather, spring is making its appearance here in our little corner of Monroe County, and we notice as we travel locally that the tulips are beginning to bloom, as are the wild plums plus the grape hyacinths up the valley at Evelyn Friedl’s.

As I write this Tuesday morning, we are enjoying a couple of days of sunshine and the clean, white snow that covers all kinds of uglies underneath it.

March arrived lamb like in the morning Friday, but by the end of the day, it had metamorphosed into a lion cub and dumped a few more inches of snow on us.
