Arnold O. Lee, 82, of La Crosse died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, after a short illness.
He was born on a farm in Cashton on Feb. 9, 1927, to Helmer and Ella (Storbakken) Lee. He married Dorothy Hisel and later divorced. Arnold was a farmer, and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting small game on his farm. After his retirement, he moved to La Crosse. He enjoyed bowling and playing pool at the senior center. He also liked to watch the construction of new buildings or the tearing down of the old. From his window, he could see the making of the new Mississippi River bridge and could tell you the progress. While living at Stokke Tower, he delivered the newspaper every day to the residents there. He was a humble, quiet person and will be missed by his family.
He is survived by two children, Diane Campbell of Madison and Ira Lee of Illinois; and four grandchildren, Dustin Campbell and Kevin, Ryan and Brett Lee. He is further survived by two brothers, four sisters and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister, and nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held, and private burial will be at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery, La Crosse.
