Allegra A. Raabe, 80, of Tomah died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Serenity House in Tomah.
She was born Jan. 29, 1933, to Martin and Trintje (Pfetcher) Raabe in La Crosse. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1950. She worked as an accountant for Kendall Motors, a Ford dealership in Kendall, for 43 years.
The best way to describe Allegra, and everyone would agree, too, would be “independent.” This independence was shown by her love for road trips. She would go on adventures all throughout the southwestern parts of America and would explore the local country roads with her friend, Belva Zimmerman. She even got to go to Hawaii six different times, visiting her nephew, David, and his family. All of her independence, traveling, friends and family led her to the realization that she had a blessed life without regrets.
She is survived by a nephew, David (Doris) Raabe of Hilo, Hawaii; three great-nieces, Trintje (Jeff) Hironaga of Hilo, Hawaii, Danica (Peter) Freund of Lowell, Ark., and Joelle (Adam) Oder of Sun Prairie, Wis.; and four great-great nieces and nephews, Tori and Jace Hironaga and Isaac and Aaron Freund.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer, and his wife, Evelyn; a niece, Donna Frye; and a great-nephew, Todd Raabe.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Cindy Arndt officiated. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Wilton.
