Alice Leona (Miller) Thonesen, 87, of Bedford Texas, passed away March 25, 2022, just 25 days after the passing of her beloved husband, Earl Mads Thonesen.

Alice was born to Richard and Geneva Miller on Jan. 24, 1935, in Vernon County, Wis.

She graduated from Tomah High School in 1953, and then attended Juneau County Normal, graduating as an instructor in 1955.

In February 1956, she married Earl Mads Thonesen. They were married for 66 years and lifetime members of the Methodist Church, serving for a time as president of the local UMW’s organization. They lived together in Bedford, Texas, where they raised two sons. She leaves as her legacy her children, Gary Thonesen (Lana Thonesen) and Clinton Thonesen (Shana Thonesen, deceased); and her granddaughter, Kayla Thonesen. She also leaves to cherish her memory a half- sister, Sandy Cook; a sister-in-law, Joyce Thonesen; a sister-in-law, Esther Vlasak; a cousin, Beth Good; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by Earl Mads Thonesen (husband), Richard Jackson Miller (father), Geneva Leona (Farra) Miller-Nelson (mother), James Miller (brother), and LeRoy Miller (brother).

Alice was a schoolteacher and also had worked in retail. She was a housewife at heart, teaching us by example and keeping our home filled with love and support. Both Alice and Earl will be dearly missed.

The plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
