Alice Faye DeLap, 84, of Machesney Park, Ill., passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was born April 9, 1941, to Dariel and Delphia (Bugbee) Winchel in Ontario, Wis. Alice worked for many years at Amerock Hardware Manufacturing.

Alice liked baking and sewing for her family. She loved to plant flowers in her garden. Alice enjoyed playing sudoku. Most of all, Alice liked learning more about her family’s history and genealogy.
Alice survived by her children, Joseph (Kathleen) DeLap, Rodney DeLap and Holly (Franz) Schaller; her grandchildren, Jay Michalak, Michelle Michalak, Colin Schaller and Claire Padovano; her great-grandchildren, Hailey Kreeger, Brianna Kreeger, Kylie Kreeger, Ariana Padovano, Lillian Schaller, and Gavin Schaller; her brother, David Winchel; her sister-in-law, Judith Winchel; and her brother-in-law, Arlen Filter.
She was preceded in death by her partner of 35 years, Jimmie Lowe; her parents, Dariel and Delphia Winchel; and her siblings, Velma (Joseph) Bugbee, Judith Winchel, Roger Winchel, Sherry (David) Tracy, Clifford Winchel, Sharon (Russell) Scholze, Wanda Winchel, Rodney Winchel, Robin Winchel, Mary (Wayne) Peters, Cindy Filter, Cheryl Winchel and her twin, and Rainey (Karen) Winchel.
A memorial gathering with a time of visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Interment will be in the Forest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, followed by a luncheon.
