Aaron M. Pasch, 88, of Ontario died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at his home.
He was born Aug. 1, 1926, to John and Augusta (Kindt) Pasch on the family farm in the town of Wellington. He grew up on South Ridge and attended the South Ridge Country School. He was baptized Aug. 29, 1926, and confirmed Aug. 4, 1940, both at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Wellington.
Aaron was united in marriage to Hazel Witt on June 14, 1950, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked for Tillman’s Poultry and hauled canned milk for Hoffman’s Creamery. He farmed in the town of Wellington for all his life. He served on the Wellington Town Board and the Monroe County Board for a total of 30 years; he also served on the Hoffman Creamery Board and AMPI Milk Board. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years.
He enjoyed in his earlier years playing cards with his card club friends, in his later years reading the farm magazines, and visiting his children. Aaron always enjoyed visiting with family and friends and reminiscing about the past; he always had a sharp memory. He was always hard working and loved to drive tractor and keep up with things on the farm. Grandpa Aaron will always be remembered for sitting in his chair. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hazel of Ontario; eight children, Christine (Gary) Larson of Sarasota, Fla., Ardell Davis of Eagan, Minn., Pauline (Douglas) McCracken of Kendall, Sharilynn Pasch and friend Daniel of Stoddard, Anita (David) Kaus of Coleman, Wis., John Pasch of Ontario, Laurie (Thomas) Waltemath of Camp Douglas and Sheila Coleman of Wilton; 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Liska and their children, Emma and Cara, Eric (Meg) Larson and their children, Zach and Toby, Michael (Kim) Larson and their children, Olivia and Garrison, Glenntisha Davis and her son, Mateo, Adam (Jessica) McCracken and their daughters, Lily, Kendyl, and Riley, Emily (Jeff) Meltesen and their daughter, Abigail, Andrea Gaustad (friend Hans), Gregory Gaustad, Jeremy (Theresa) Kaus and their children, Vanessa and Ryan, Jonathan Kaus, Daniel Kaus (friend Lacey), Alaina Kaus, Michael (Heather) Pasch and their son, Aaron, Brooke Waltemath (friend Dustin), Kyle Waltemath, Cassandra (James) Miller and their children, Addisyn and Jameson, Lucas (Kristi) Ferries and their son, Wyatt, and Joshua Ferries; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Sturtz and Edith Witt; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Hunter McCracken; three brothers-in-law, Ralph Witt, Donald Sturtz and Jim Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Johnson.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25525 County Hwy. P, Ontario. Pastor Steven Neuman will officiate. Burial will be in South Ridge Lutheran Cemetery.
Relatives and friend are invited to call at the church on Thursday from 4–8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
