Barbara Ann Mack, 93, of Summit Ridge (Norwalk), passed away peacefully Aug. 13, 2025, in the comfort of her cherished home, surrounded by a lifetime of memories.

Born on April 3, 1932, in Sparta, Wis., to George and Anna (Hedrick) Bohn, Barbara’s life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and community.
Barbara’s early education took place at Bohn School, a one-room schoolhouse on Summit Ridge, which laid the foundation for her lifelong love of reading and learning. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1949.
On June 11, 1955, Barbara married James Mack, also of Summit Ridge, and together they purchased the Bohn family farm, where Barbara had been raised. Their home was filled with the joys of family and farm life, a comfortable home where they raised their eight beloved children with love, laughter and gentle guidance. As her family expanded to include many wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they became an additional source of happiness, each one holding a special place in her heart, and she in theirs.
Barbara’s Catholic faith was a constant touchstone. A devout and active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summit, she served as a CCD teacher, a dedicated member of the St. John’s Altar Society, and a reader at Mass, among many other acts of service to her community.
Barbara was a faithful and trusted friend to many. She enjoyed phone calls and visits and looked forward to her monthly “Cousin Club” outings, reminiscing about the past and sharing family updates.
Barbara will be remembered as a wise and beautiful soul for whom the simple pleasure of sitting on her porch, watching the birds, and witnessing the beauty of nature in bloom were reflections of her appreciation for life’s blessings. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as the flowers in her garden will return each year — a living tribute to a life beautifully lived.
Barbara is survived by her children, Jane (Dave) Clark, Steve (DeDe) Mack, John (Karen) Mack, George (Carolyn) Mack, Richard Mack, Mary (Scott) Geisler, and Rose (Lloyd) Krieger; a son-in-law, Stephen Kellert; a sister-in-law, Joan Nevin; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Bohn; her infant brother, Robert; her husband, James; her daughter, Sara Lynn; and her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Kenny Muehlenkamp.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara’s name may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Norwalk, Wis., or to Wisconsin Public Broadcasting.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Summit Ridge, Norwalk, Wis. Father Eric Berns will officiate.
