Leila Helen Moseley, 95, of Cassville, Wis., formerly of Tomah, died April 19, 2025, at Eden Vista, Madison.
She was born Oct. 27, 1929, to Alloth and Helen (Mahoney) Westpfahl in Tomah, Wis. She was a member of the Tomah High School graduating class of 1947. Leila married the love of her life, Dale Moseley, on May 29, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2022.
Their life together started with Dale working on the Moseley Family Farm. Eventually, Dale and Leila acquired land near Cassville, Wis., where they developed a “pick-your-own” strawberry business, along with a small orchard of apples and other fruit trees. Leila had a collection of all things strawberry, including wallpaper, plates and all sorts of collectibles.

When the work was done, it was time to get “on the road again.” Leila and Dale started snow birding in the 1980s; they started out with a fifth-wheel trailer and eventually bought a motorhome. They visited family, friends, explored national and state parks, and toured state capitols of each of the 50 United States. They camped with their high school friends and relatives annually at the “Buddy Reunion.”
Leila enjoyed quilting, and she generously gave them for weddings, baby showers and gifts to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was active in her community, where she was a leader for the 4-H for 37 years, a past president of the 3rd District WFWC, and a member of the Cassville Lioness Club. She had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; a daughter-in-law Claudia; her parents; and her siblings, Victor, Arlyn and Geraldine, James and Mary, Melvin, Lorene and Raymond Koput, Helen Joy and Charles Starkey, and Carrol Jean and Kenneth Schmidt.
Leila is survived by her sons, Neil and Roy (Pam); her daughter, Ann (Kerry) Miller; her grandchildren, Mary (Rob) Richards, Cara Moseley, Matthew (Stacey) Moseley, Justin Moseley, and Allison (Paul) Hendrickson; eight great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings, Merlin (Irene) Westpfahl, Steve (Patricia) Westpfahl, Joanne Westpfahl, and Cheryl Jaeger; her brother-in-law, Rex (Janet) Moseley; and her sisters-in-law, Karyl Burnstad, Armetta Parker and Marlene Richard. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church at St. Mary’s, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah. Father Ethan J. Hokamp will officiate. Burial will in the church cemetery.
