Janice Helene Tassler, 73, passed away March 27,2025, at the Wild Rose Hospital.
She was born Feb. 6, 1952, in Wisconsin to Elgard and Ora (Sauerbriet) Foelske. She married her soulmate Aaron (Moose) Tassler. He has preceded her in death.

Jan and Moose ran the family business, The Lucky Horseshoe Ranch, in Princeton, Wis., for many years. After this business, they moved to Neshkoro, and then to Ontario, Wis. This is where they created The End of the Trail Equestrian Campground. They met and became friends with many people. Many memories were made here, and people from near and far came to camp. Now this campground is in the hands of Rod Clark.
Jan was also known to her friends as the horse show speed rider, earning many trophies. She and Moose raced quarter horses and thoroughbred horses for a time. But her greatest love was Rufus, their mule, known by many, especially her niece Danielle and nephews Robert and Ethan. Having Rufus even got her sister Sandy to buy mules. Jan and Moose also spent many winters in Arizona at the Spirit Dog Ranch, where they made many more friends and had many rides with their mules. And where Moose was the area welder.
Survivors include her sisters, Sandy Plantz of Belgrade, Minn., Donna Foelske of Ripon, Wis., Denise (Joseph Cain) of Greeley, Colo.; her brother, Robert (Victoria) Foelske of Green Lake, Wis.; her nephews, Robert (Amy) Foelske of Green Lake, Wis., and Ethan Plantz of Fairwater, Wis.; her niece, Danielle Foelske of Green Lake, Wis.; followed by great-nieces and great-nephews, Leah and Tyler Foelske and Ora and Clara Plantz.
Jan also had a good friend, Lisa Hackney, who was a care provider, along with being her friend. Lisa also has taken in Jan’s dog, her buddy, Two Tracks.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Elgard and Ora Foelske; her husband, Aaron (Moose) Tassler; her brother, Dennis; and her sister, Lieutenant Pat Foelske. Special thank you to all the folks who loved Jan and Moose! Thank you for all of your condolences.
Jan requested no services to be held. We may have a celebration of life later this summer. This is to be determined.
