Brandon Robert Sebranek, 30, is facing several drug charges after a search warrant was executed Wednesday, Nov. 20, at a residence on Mount Tabor Road in the town of Forest, according to an announcement by Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation.
During the search, which was the result of an ongoing investigation, several items were seized. Sebranek appeared in Vernon County Circuit Court Thursday, Nov. 21, and was later released after posting a $2,500 cash bond.
On Nov. 25, Vernon County District Attorney Angela Palmer-Fisher filed charges against Sebranek of possession of firearm – convicted of a felony, bail jumping – felony, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, all as a repeat offender. A charge is merely an accusation, noted the sheriff’s office, and Sebranek is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Sebranek is due back in Vernon County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, for an initial appearance.
Those that assisted with the arrest were the Vernon County Combined Tactical Unit, the Wisconsin Joint Tactical Team, the Hillsboro Police Department, Hillsboro Area Ambulance, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and tactical unit, the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office and tactical unit, and the Vernon County Department of Human Services.
The incident remains under investigation.
