Jerry D. Lowrey, 79, of Hillsboro, Wis., passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wis. He was born Aug. 30, 1945, in La Farge, Wis., to Everett and Irene (Campbell) Lowrey.

Jerry graduated from La Farge High School and proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. He was a faithful member of the Hillsboro American Legion Post 223. He was united in marriage to Janice Mason on June 25, 2002, in Lake Tahoe.

He was a true jack of all trades; Jerry was a local milk truck driver for many years for AMPI and Foremost Farms, and repairing and performing maintenance on all different kinds of trucks was his favorite hobby. Over the years, he enjoyed many bus trips and cruises with his wife, Janice, and even got to go on the Badger Honor Flight in 2020 with his daughter, Caroline. It was a trip together that they will never forget.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice Lowrey; two children, Caroline Burdick and Christopher (Dawn) Lowrey; his two stepchildren, Crystal (Jayson) Wilder and their daughter, Zoey Wilder, and Kevin Pfeffer; his brother, Ralph (Marjie) Lowrey; and his sisters, Betty Richter and Opal Anderson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Irene; his brothers, Larry, Otto, Ray, and James; his sisters, Genevieve Saltz, Mary “Letta” Vance, Ethel Adams Lund, Freda Williams, and Linda Buggbe; and his son-in-law, Brian Burdick.

Memorial services for Jerry will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at 12 p.m. (noon) at Burr Wesleyan Church in Hillsboro, Wis. Pastor Jason Kirkpatrick will officiate. Full military honors will immediately follow the service. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
