Lewellyn Mae (Noth) Ahlfs (Lou), 91, of Security, Colo., and formerly of Norwalk, Wis., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at her home.

She was born Aug. 27, 1933, in the Township of Sheldon, near Norwalk, Wis., to Clarence Anton Wm. And Mildred Edith (Haldeman) Noth. On May 7, 1966, she married Robert Clair Ahlfs in Fort Carson, Colo.

While growing up in the country in the midst of family, Lou definitely relished spending time with her cousins! Oh, what fun they had and the stories that they shared!

When Lou got older, she thoroughly enjoyed shopping – mainly rummage sales and thrift stores! She had a penchant for a bargain.

Lou graduated from Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Wis., and La Crosse Vocational College in La Crosse, Wis. Her employment in Wisconsin included State Bank of La Crosse, Camp McCoy, Sparta Telephone Company, State Board of Health and Game & Fish Company. In 1959, Lou followed her parents, Clarence and Mildred, moving to Security, Colo., to begin employment with the Department of the Army at Fort Carson, Colo. She was employed at Fort Carson until she retired.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Donna) Noth of Security; her stepson, Robert Ahlfs of Washington state; a brother, Dale (Ruthie) Noth of Norwalk; a niece, Mary Ellen (Aaron) Osnes, and their children, Ethan and Devon Osnes of Valentine, Neb.; and a nephew, Kevin (Lori) Noth, and their son, Cameron, of Bloomington, Minn.

Jeff said that Lou had outlived all her friends here, so there won’t be a service in Colorado.

Family and friends are invited to gather for the Interment of Ashes at Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11. Following the interment, please join the family for lunch at Dale & Ruthie’s.
