Kathleen Good Stubrud of Cadot, Wis., formerly of Kendall, died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home on Oct. 5, 2023.

Kathy was born on July 1, 1951, to parents Dorothea and Grant Good. Kathy grew up in Kendall and graduated from Royall High School in 1969. Following high school, Kathy earned a degree from UW-Stevens Point.

She married Theodore (Ted) Stubrud on May 17, 1975, and they had two sons, Kristopher and Andrew. Ted died in September 2007. In 2010, Kathy moved back to Kendall and remained there until the summer of 2023, when she was able to buy her own mobile home in Cadot, Wis.

Kathy was a very generous person and took great delight in giving people gifts, and quite often they were items she had made. She loved to bake and looked forward to entering baked goods in area fairs. Bingo was another of Kathy’s favorite activities.

Kathy’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kendall and a member of the Ladies Aid. Kathy brought the idea of a “Christmas Cookie Walk” to the church, and it has become an annual event sponsored by the Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed planning and doing crafts with the Sunday school children.

Kathy had many challenges throughout her life — from personal challenges to many health issues. Kathy had undergone countless surgeries for various conditions.

In addition to her husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wayne “Skip” Good. She is survived by her sons, Kristopher and Andrew, and a grandson, Solomon.

A celebration-of-life service for Kathy will be Wednesday, May 1, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kendall. The service will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Larry Neitzel officiating. A lunch will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

The Sonnenberg Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
