Linda Lou Zimmerman, 66, of Cashton, Wis., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Linda was born to George and Edna (Brock) Abbenaus on June 27, 1957, in Billings, Mont.
Linda married Lee Zimmerman on Sept. 23, 2000, and together they made Cashton their home. Lee passed away in 2017.
Linda was spunky, sassy, and fun. She adored the water, swimming in any pool, lake or ocean, and water skiing. Animals held a special place in her heart. Who could forget her birds, Billie and Kid, along with her cats who tolerated them?
Linda always loved traveling, and she would make sure that every trip was an adventure. Linda fought through a long battle with cancer, but it didn’t stop her and her best friend, Dale Kirkeeng, from taking a last-minute road trip to Florida a week ago. She was always ready for exploring.
Linda is survived by her special friend, Dale Kirkeeng; several brothers and sisters; along with so many good and dear friends in Cashton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Lee.
Per Linda’s wishes, there will be no funeral, and her ashes will return to Story, Wyo.
