Erna Doris Kamperschroer, 98, of West Allis, Wis., and formerly of Cashton, Wis., passed away peacefully at the Vitas Ruth Hospice House in West Allis.
Doris was born Aug. 31, 1925, to Edward and Martha (Haase) Birkholz. She married Irving Richard Kamperschroer on Jan. 29, 1949, in Cashton, Wis.
Doris and Irving were members of the Moose Lodge 1019 and the Fosselyngen Post 82 Sons of Norway. They had a great love for traveling “up north,” to Europe or anywhere together. Sewing and reading were a few pastimes that she enjoyed. And her faith was strong and faithful. Doris adored her family and looked forward to their gatherings.
Doris is survived by her children, Kathryn (Russell) Kantor, Keith (Sally) and Kurt (Jeanne); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Irving, in 2001; her parents; and her siblings, Herbert (Mildred) Drews, Leo (Clarice) Drews, Elsie (Harold) Switz, Carl Birkholz, George (Dorothy) Birkholz, and Reuben (Mary) Birkholz.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Portland Lutheran Church in Cashton, Wis. Pastor Pat Ziem will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
A memorial service also will be held in West Allis at a later date.
