Ralph “King” Schumacher, 84, of rural Ontario, Wis., passed away Dec. 19, 2022, at his home.

Ralph was born April 30, 1938, in Vernon County, Wis. He lived in Vernon and Monroe counties throughout his life. In January 1956, he wed his wife, Betty (Hunter), who was his high school sweetheart. They had three children: Gary, Johnny, and Theresa. He worked at Tillmans and as a farmer. There were always animals to take care of and chores to be done! Additionally, Ralph logged — with horses — and was known as one of the best at fixing fences in the area.

Ralph loved his family, his horses, and the Green Bay Packers! He could often be spotted at various sporting events, cheering on his grandkids and great-grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed pulling horses and attended many horse pulls and horse sales across the Midwest. He loved his kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren greatly. He will be dearly missed.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Gary of Ontario, Wis., Johnny (Naida) of St. Augustine, Fla., and Theresa (Ed) Nichols of Sparta, Wis.; his four grandchildren, Justin (Vicki) Nichols, Ryan Nichols (Theresa DeCraene), Tara Nichols (Zach Fudge), and Mikayla Schumacher; his great-grandchildren, Levi, Madelyn, Castiel, Harper, and Khalessi Nichols; and his brother, Ray Schumacher of Johnson Creek, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Pete Schumacher.
