Earl Mads Thonesen, 88, of Bedford, Texas, passed away Feb. 28, 2022.

Earl was born to Christen and Christina Thonesen on Nov. 13, 1933, in Monroe County, Wis. He graduated from Kendall High School in 1951. After high school, he enlisted in the USAF during the Korean conflict.

After his service, he married Alice Leona Miller in 1956. They were married for 66 years and lifetime members of the Methodist church. They lived together in Bedford, Texas, where they raised two sons.

He leaves as his legacy his loving wife, Alice Thonesen; his children, Gary Thonesen (Lana Thonesen), Clinton Thonesen (Shana Thonesen, deceased); and his granddaughter, Kayla Thonesen. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Esther Vlasak; a sister-in-law, Joyce Thonesen; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by Christen Thonesen (father), Christina Thonesen (mother), Dora Thonesen (sister), Mildred Willie (sister), Ada Johnson (sister) Alma Buchal (sister) and Harry Thonesen (brother). 

Earl was an aircraft mechanic/crew chief for American Airlines until he retired in 1998 with 41 years of dedicated service and the respect and continuing friendship of those he associated with during his long, illustrious career. 

The plans for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
