The Norwalk Lions Club celebrated the 70th anniversary of the foundation of their club (Jan. 8, 1952) on Saturday at the American Legion Hall in Wilton. The club donated $5,000 to Sparta Area Cancer Support. Pictured is Norwalk Lions Club president Levi Helgren, along with members of the club, presenting a check to SACS Co-President Gary Peterson. Dr. J.S. Allen was the first president of the Norwalk Lions Club. Dave Schreier had suggested offering a tractor pull in 1966, and the first one was held Aug. 13, 1967.
