A recent county policy change has permitted the Monroe County Local History Room & Museum to end the reservation system to see museum exhibits.
Effective April 9, the public can visit the Monroe County Local History Room’s exhibits without having to call ahead to make an appointment. Exhibits are available Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mask wearing is still required as directed by county guidelines.
In addition to the Monroe County Local History Room’s regular exhibits, currently on view is “Monroe County Chooses: The Toys We Love,” an exhibit featuring dozens of the most beloved toys from the 1940s to the 1990s as chosen by the public. See if your favorite childhood plaything is featured in this colorful — and playful — exhibit. “The Toys We Love” exhibit will be up through summer 2021
Note that the History Room’s research library will continue to be open to the public by reservation only Monday through Saturday from 1–4 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling (608) 269-8680.
