Under public health department recommendations, Monroe County plans to ease limited access to most buildings Thursday, April 1, with the exception of certain departments.
The county encourages the public to do the following:
• Call ahead and schedule appointments if possible.
• Come prepared. Face coverings covering nose and mouth are required in most county buildings for those able. If you do not have one, disposable masks are available.
• Practice social distancing in Monroe County buildings.
• Continue to use the drop boxes located outside of county buildings if you need to drop off mail or make payments.
The following departments will continue with limited access and safety protocols:
• Human Services: The department is open by appointment and to walk-ins, but the county recommends an appointment to guarantee to be seen. Call (608) 269-8600 to make an appointment.
• Land Conservation: Limited building access by appointment only. Call (608) 269-8975 to make an appointment.
• Local History Room & Museum: Limited capacity. Call ahead; reservations are recommended. Call (608) 269-8680 for more information and reservations.
• Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center: Visits to residents are allowed with some restrictions. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead to schedule their visit and ensure a visit can occur. Masks are required at all times. Visitors will be screened for illness, and those who have been exposed to Covid-19 in the past 14 days or have any symptoms of illness will not be allowed into the facility.
