Robert Dean Clayton, 79, of Ontario passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua.

Robert was born April 19, 1932, to Joseph and Kathryn (Olson) Clayton in Ashton, Ill. He enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War Conflict. In 1950, he was married to Lucille Anderson but later divorced. He worked as a livestock dealer, a job that he enjoyed because of his love of animals.

Robert is survived by a very special friend, Sandi Loeffelholz of Ontario, and he is the beloved father of Keith (Dana) Johnanson of Muskego, Wis., Jeanne (Richard) Almasy of Freeport, Ill., Jayne (Ray) Anderson of Oak Park, Ill., and Donna (Mike) Hermes of Amboy, Ill.;several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along withother relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sisters, Helen Fassig, Evelyn Krug, Viola Nichols and Donald Clayton.

A memorial service with full military honors for Robert was Monday, Feb. 13, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Ontario. Pastor Jay Cronholm officiated.
