Leo Henry Geier, 89, of St. Mary’s Ridge, Wis., passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at the VA in Tomah. Leo was born on St. Mary’s Ridge on July 23, 1930, to Albin and Elizabeth (Dickman) Geier.
After attending Cashton school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in April 1956. After discharge from the Army, he worked at various jobs but spent most of his life working as a mason, doing curbs and gutters, sidewalks and being an expert cement finisher.
He was united in holy matrimony to Rosemary Rademacher, and together they had one daughter, Terri. Leo’s biggest delight was the birth of his grandson, Tyler. Leo loved the simple things in life: fishing, watching Westerns, and spending time with his daughter, grandson, family and friends. He enjoyed going on long car rides.
Leo is survived by his daughter, Terri Bailey, and her son, Tyler; his sisters-in-law, Florentine Geier and Annette (Alvis) Strazdins; a brother-in-law, LaMont Haas; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, in 1982; his parents, Albin and Elizabeth; three brothers, Hank, Robert and Roger Geier; and three sisters, Florence Steele, Martha Seitz and Marie Haas.
The family would like to thank the Tomah VA for their wonderful care that Leo received while he was there.
A Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on St. Mary’s Ridge. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Social-distancing guidelines will be in place.
