A 33-year-old La Farge man was hurt in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning, April 9, in the town of Whitestown, according to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears.

At about 4 a.m., Nathan R. Dorris was driving southbound on Highway 131, near Rockton, north of La Farge, when his vehicle went off the road at the intersection of Heisel Road and struck a guardrail. The vehicle then went through the guardrail, traveled down a steep embankment, and came to rest in a ditch.

A private vehicle transported Dorris, who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua. Later, Tri-State Ambulance transported him to the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Dorris told police that he had worn a seatbelt and that the driver-side airbag had deployed.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
