A lifeguard/CPR course will be offered at Kickapoo High School starting April 23.
Classes will run four weeks, meeting each Sunday; the dates will be determined once the class roster is set.
The cost is $200 and covers books and materials, instructor time, and facility use.
Prerequisites for the lifeguard course include a 300-yard swim, 10-pound-brick retrieval, and two minutes of treading water.
Classes are open to anyone who is 15 and older. One must be 16 years old to work as a lifeguard. The deadline to sign up is April 17.
