Adeline Mae Wallace, 69, of Leon, Wis., passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Tomah Nursing and Rehab Center.

Adeline was born Nov. 22, 1946, to Glenn and Alice (Thayer) Webb in the town of Wellington, rural Ontario, where she also grew up. She was a 1964 graduate of Brookwood High School. Adeline married her best friend, Dean Wallace, on July 27, 1974. They shared this beautiful day in the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Norwalk.

Adeline was a hard worker all of her life. She worked on the family farm for many years with her parents and then her sisters. After she and Dean moved to Leon, she spent the next 11 years working at Northern Engraving in Sparta; she delivered the Foxxy Shopper for over 25 years and worked at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Black River Falls.

During the fall, Adeline spent hours hunting and gathering blackberries. She knew all of the special spots to find them. Some years, she was able to pick upwards of 100 quarts a season. Adeline enjoyed growing gardens filled with flowers and vegetables. Her two grandsons were the twinkle in her eye, and she cherished any minute she could spend with them.

Adeline is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Dean; her daughter, Sarah (Brian) Ebert of Angelo, Wis., and their sons, Adam and Trent; three sisters, Charlene Webb of Ontario, Eleanor (Richard) Poppie of Beloit, Wis., and Rita (Gene) Allen of McFarland, Wis.; and her aunt, Eileen Standiford of Beloit, Wis.; along with many other relatives and friends.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow in the Cal Day Cemetery in rural Ontario.

Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
