Evelyn Marie Sullivan (Lehner), 73, of Norwalk passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Evelyn was born July 11, 1942, in her family house in Norwalk to Leona (Ruland) and Joseph Lehner. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed in Norwalk. She was a 1960 graduate of Norwalk High School. On Nov. 24, 1960, she was united in marriage to Francis John Sullivan at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Norwalk. They raised three children together in Norwalk. Frank and Evie owned and operated Sullivan’s Bar in Wilton.

Evie graduated from Wisconsin Technical College and Viterbo College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Evie worked at the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center as a registered nurse and retired from the VA in 2006.

Evie enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and quilting. Evie was a proud member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at St. Rose Convent. She was a board member for Scenic Bluffs Community Health in Cashton.  Evie helped implement the bereavement program for the Tomah VA Medical Center.

Evelyn is survived by her three children, Jeffery (Mary Hemmersbach) Sullivan of Sparta, Terry (Thomas) Arndt of Hustler, Wis., and Colleen (Justin) Scholze of Norwalk; seven grandchildren, Nancy Lee (Jason Steele) Arndt of West Salem, Ashley (Brandon) Lucas of Green Bay, Erin Arndt of Pittsville, Wis., Nicholas (Courtney Nilssen) Sullivan of Sparta, Garrett Sullivan of Sparta, Nichelle (Jesse Mannise) Sullivan of Norwalk, and Maria Scholze Norwalk; and seven great-grandchildren, Braylon, Urijah, Jacoby and Beckham Steele, Braxdon and Bruen Lucas, and Tamara Mannise.

She is further survived by her siblings, George (Terry) Lehner of Grosse Ile, Mich., Carolyn (Dick) O’Gara of New Richmond, Wis., and Michael (Loir) Lehner of Burnsville, Minn.; and her sisters-in-law, Susie Lehner of Tulsa, Okla., and Theresa Lehner of Norwalk.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lehner and Leona (Ruland) Lehner; her father- and mother-in-law, John and Louise (Brieske) Sullivan; and her brothers, James Lehner and Eugene Lehner.  

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, at St. Augustine’s of Hippo Catholic Church in Norwalk, with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church.

Family and friends are invited to call at St. Augustine’s on Tuesday from 5–8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com.
