Marilyn P. Rumppe, 64, of Baraboo, Wis., and formerly of Kendall died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at her home.

She was born in December 1948 to Ernest and Edna (Drew) Duvall in Antigo. She grew up in the Pelican Lake area. She was united in marriage to Orville L. Rumppe Sr. on Dec. 16, 1966, in Illinois. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 2007. Together they moved to the Kendall area. Marilyn worked at the Midway restaurant and for the Kendall grocery store as well as several other places.

She enjoyed spending her free time on word-search puzzles, playing cards, watching television, and playing with her dog, Prince. Marilyn was a very hardworking person.

This Christmas was a very special Christmas for the family, and everyone will always remember Grandma’s Christmas Cookies. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa (Brian) Straight of Elroy, Brenda (Bruce Fischer) of Wisconsin Dells, and Judy (Bill) Leroy of Baraboo; a son, Orville Jr. (Sam) of Elroy; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two expected great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Florence, Sylvia, Bernice, Willy and Freddy; a special friend, Myrtle Fitch of Hillsboro; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herby, and two sisters, Lucy and Joyce.

A funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Janu. 19, at the Smith Nelson Funeral Home, 112 E. South Railroad St., Kendall. Pastor Robert Waschek will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
