Mary Jane Peth, 72, of Tomah passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, surrounded by her family at Liberty Village in Tomah.

She was born March 16, 1942, to Gerald and Agnes (Berendes) Flock in Sparta. She was raised in Wilton. 

Mary Jane was united in marriage to Gary Lee Peth on Sept. 19, 1959, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wilton. Together they moved to Kenosha for a few years before moving back to the Tomah area. Mary Jane was born a caregiver. She spent her life caring for others, just as her mom had done. She was very active in the communities she lived in and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Wilton American Legion and Tomah Hospice Touch. Mary Jane was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomah, where she served with the women’s PCCW.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Rene) Peth of Huntington Beach, Calif., Kevin (Dianna) Peth of Tomah, Mike (Roxanne) Peth of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joni (Tim) Bailey of Raleigh, N.C., and Jon (JoAnn) Peth of Milwaukee; her grandchildren, Ashley and Josh Peth of California, Theresa (Tommy) Bailey of North Carolina, Jennifer Peth of North Carolina, Katie (Chris) Maske of North Carolina, Becca (Ian) Spohn of Tomah, Anthony Peth of La Crosse, Jake Peth of Tomah, Randy Peth of Ohio, and Morgan and TJ Bailey of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Gerald Flock of Minden, Nev., and Tom (Jackie) Flock of Tomah; a sister, Rosalynn (Paul) Kruse of Seattle, Wash.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Agnes, and her husband, Gary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at St Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Rosary will be said at 8:30 a.m.

A burial and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers,memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Guardian Angel Tuition Fund at St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Tomah Hospice Touch.
