Milne H. Parish of Camp Verde, Ariz., and formerly of Norwalk died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the Effusion Assisted Living Center, Camp Verde, Ariz.

He was born Oct. 25, 1920, to Edward and Lottie Parish in the town of Forest, Vernon County. Milne spent most his last years in his adopted state of Colorado, just outside Walsenberg. Milne served many communities as mail carrier for a Star Route. Following several years of working on the Alaskan pipeline, he retired to Golden, Colo. He later moved to Camp Verde, Ariz., and then to Walsenberg, Colo.

He spent many hours riding his favorite horse Mada in competitive trail rides throughout the United States. Milne was a popular rider and was always a welcomed addition in any camp. He lived for elk hunting and his remains will be spread over his favorite hunting ground in the Colorado Rockies.

Milne is survived by five children, Linda Kohn of Richland Center, Ronald (Carol) Parish of Tomah, Danny (significant other Pam) and Douglas (Kathy), both of Janesville, and Janet (Dave) Schlicht of Mauston; a sister, Vida Diers of Balsam Lake, Wis.; a brother, Quintin “Gib” Parish of Fort Placid, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and a nephew.

He is further survived by his longtime companion, very special friend and caretaker, JoDean Parish of Camp Verde, Ariz.

Milne was preceded in death his parents; his sisters, Edna Kouba and Lucile Parish; and a brother, James Parish.

A celebration of life will be held for Milne at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, La Farge, from 1–3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. Please join the family to share memories, sandwiches and refreshments. No flowers or memorials.
