Marlene F. Baldwin, 87, formerly of Ontario, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby.

She was born Jan. 21, 1923, to Clyde and Annie (Blaha) Winchel in the town of Forest, Vernon County. Marlene was united in marriage to Freddie “Joe” Baldwin on Oct. 19, 1941, at Rev. Arthur Heisel’s home at Burr Ridge; they lived in the Ontario area. He preceded her in death July 9, 1996. She was a member of the Ontario Homemakers and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include her daughters, Jessie (Ray) Willford of Arvada, Colo., and Jolene (Stephen) Downs of Ocala, Fla.; three granddaughters, Lori (Sean) Morgan of Colorado and Janelle Downs and Stephanie Downs, both of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Emily Morgan; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Parkhurst of Elroy and Myrtle (Ben) Melvin of La Farge; two brothers, Harold (Patricia) Winchel of Hillsboro and Frankie Winchel of Elroy; three sisters-in-law, Edith Baldwin, Ruth Schneider and Margaret Teed; and many nieces and nephews. She was greatly loved and will be missed.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons; an infant daughter; four sisters, Margaret Eckelburg, Marlyce Revels, Mildred Olsen and Marcella Calhoon; three brothers, Richard, John and Ronald Winchel; and 12 brothers- and sisters-in-law, Maynard, Dick, Tom and Mary Lou, and Jack and Elma Baldwin, Sylvia and Hallie Marshall, Ella and Robert Bruce, Edward Schneider and Bruce Teed.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Burr Wesleyan Church, rural Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Hilltop Rest Cemetery in Ontario.
