Steve A. Buchanan, 62, of Tomah and formerly of Kendall died Thursday, May 19, 2011, at his home.

He was born April 7, 1949, to Herbert and Hattie (Gibney) Buchanan in Reedsburg. He attended Hillsboro High School. He was united in marriage to Donna Pace on July 19, 1975, in Hillsboro. Steve and Donna lived in the Kendall area for many years and recently had moved to Tomah. Steve enjoyed hunting. He was an avid reader, especially enjoying Western novels. He was also a speed reader, finishing numerous books a day. Steve was an innovative thinker. He was continually thinking of new ideas to make improvements on the way things worked. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Donna of Tomah; two sons, Rolynn (Megan) of Elroy and Randy of Theresa, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Mirissa, Jacob, Tirasissa, Angelann, Sasha, Kelsey and Nathan; a brother, Stan (Linda) Buchanan of Rice Lake, Wis.; two sisters, Sandy (Harold) Baldwin of Ontario and Sharilyn (Steve) Mear of New Mexico; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Nathan.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Burr Wesleyan Church, S1728 County V Ave., Hillsboro. Pastor Alan Tripp will officiate. Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Kendall, with military honors. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
