Wendell H. Zietlow, 72, of Norwalk passed away at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse on Friday, May 31, 2013.
Wendell was born Jan. 2, 1941, in Norwalk to Arthur and Viola (Prosch) Zietlow. He was united in holy matrimony to Carol Nelson on Oct. 16, 1971, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, Wis.
Wendell was a devout Christian. He lived his life for the Lord and for his family. Wendell also loved flying, a passion his son Jason followed in. Wendell worked many various jobs: electrical contractor, semi driver and self-employed businesses of whitewashing dairy barns and excavating, and finally as a contract dump-truck operator.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Carol of Norwalk; his son, Jason of Norwalk; his brothers, Robert (Sue) Zietlow of Brea, Calif., Don (Pat) Zietlow of Cashton, Art Zietlow of Madison and Jim (Dixie) Zietlow of Eagle River, Wis.; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Wendell was preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd and Carroll Zietlow, and his sisters, Gloria Frederick and Mary Ann Carlson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at Faith Independence (Independent) Baptist Church on Ontario. Pastor Michael Gjefle will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the church. The Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home of Norwalk is assisting the family with arrangements.
