Eva C. Feige, 82, of Wilton died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 18, 1930, to Willi and Anna (Lamprecht) Schulz in Berlin, Germany. On Dec. 24, 1952, Eva was united in marriage to Gerhard P. Feige in Berlin. He preceded her in death March 5, 2008.
Eva and Gerhard lived in the Chicago area for many years, relocating to the Wilton in 1991 to be closer to their daughter and family. Eva worked as a dressmaker for Wilson Garments in Chicago for more than 17 years. She was a talented seamstress and would make clothing for herself and her family.
She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton, serving in the past as a member of the ladies aid. Eva enjoyed spending time in her garden, cooking delicious German dishes and spending the afternoon with her “koffee clutch” friends from Germany. Closest to her heart was her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Pam Conway of Wilton; two grandchildren, Kathleen (Timothy) Rupert and Brendan Conway; a sister, Ilona Schulz of Berlin, Germany; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Kurt Schulz and Karl Schulz; a brother-in-law, Johann; and four sisters-in-law, Elsa, Gerete, Kate and Martha Schulz.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton. Pastor Kathleen Wohler will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, Ill.
