Wednesday, Dec. 23: Monroe County reports 35 cases and one death; Vernon County, nine cases; and Juneau County, 10 cases

Monroe County reported one new Covid-19 death on Dec. 23.

Also, Monroe County had 35 new cases, bringing its total to 3,335, of which 184 were active (five were hospitalized), 3,124 had recuperated, and 27 had died.

Vernon County reported nine new cases, all of whom were recovering at home:

• A male in his 50s

• Two males in their 60s

• A male in his 90s

• A female in her 20s

• A female in her 40s

• One female in her 50s

• Two females in their 60s

Of the total 1,461 cases since the start of the pandemic, 1,256 have recovered, six were hospitalized, 168 were isolating at home, and 31 had died.

Juneau County 10 new cases, bringing its total to 1,767, of which 146 were active (two were hospitalized), 334 had been released from isolation, 1,277 had recovered, and 10 had died.

Juneau County keeps a separate tally of its facility cases. At the New Lisbon Correctional Institution, three new inmate cases were reported, resulting in a total of six active cases. Since the Aug. 15 start of the outbreak, 540 positive results have been recorded.

At the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center, no new cases were reported. The facility has had 49 positive results since the Dec. 3 start of the outbreak; 20 of those are active.
