Monday, Jan. 28: Vicki Peterson of Casey, Iowa, was operating a semi-truck and trailer for Aschenbrenner Trucking Inc., traveling northbound on Highway 35 in the town of Bergen, when she drove into deep snow on the shoulder of the road. Peterson lost control, crossed the center line, and went over an embankment, and then the semi overturned onto its driver’s side. No injuries were reported. The highway was shut down while the semi was removed from the embankment.
Monday, Jan. 28: Going downhill and negotiating a curve, Michael Vanburger of The Villages, Fla., was traveling southbound on County Highway D just east of Ogden Avenue in the town of Clinton. Vanburger began braking, lost control on the snow-covered road, and slid off the roadway. The vehicle came to rest against a fence. No injuries occurred. The vehicle was towed.
Tuesday, Jan. 29: Driving on a snow-covered road, Melissa Peterson of La Farge was traveling northbound on Sandhill Road in the town of Whitestown when she lost control of her vehicle, traveled into the ditch, and hit a snowbank. No injuries were reported. The vehicle had minor damage.
