The Brookwood boys basketball team extended its losing streak to five games after a trio of defeats in the past week.

Necedah 81, Brookwood 33
The Falcons’ defense had no answer for anyone with the last name “Murphy” on Feb. 14. Senior Jaron Murphy powered his way to a 28-point performance, and Landon Murphy added 22. The duo combined for seven 3-pointers and was 9–10 from the free throw line.
Brookwood trailed 42–28 at the half but was outscored 39–5 in the second.
Kaden Brandau ended with 17 points and seven rebounds. Alek Martin added 6 points. Evan Klinkner had five rebounds.
Royall 60, Brookwood 48
The Falcons led at the half but struggled in the back portion of the game again. This time their opponent outscored them 34–20 to earn the win.
Brandau ended with 22 points after going 5–11 from the floor, 3–7 with the three-point shot, and 5–6 at the free throw line. Martin added 11.
The team outrebounded Royall 32–28. Brandau had 8 to lead the team. Mitchell Klinkner and Hayden Thompson each had 6. Thompson also had two steals.
Cashton 96, Brookwood 51
Another strong effort by the opposing defense bogged down Brookwood’s offense as it took a 45-point loss to Cashton on Monday night.
To lead Brookwood, Martin finished with 17 in the loss. Cashton’s Isaac Hemmersbach led all scorers with 18, while Presley Brueggen and Bowdy Dempsey scored 17 and 16, respectively.
Regionals
Brookwood (4–16) ended up as a 12 seed for next week’s regional tournament. The Falcons will travel to New Glarus (14–7) on Tuesday night. New Glarus won the Capitol South Conference this season. The Falcons will wrap up the regular season with games at Hillsboro on Thursday and at Westby on Friday evening.
