South Ridge School (town of Wellington), 1954–55

Last week, the County Line printed a spread on the South Ridge School, a one-room schoolhouse in the town of Wellington that was demolished earlier in August. A photo of the South Ridge students from 1954–55 appeared with the piece, and since then, we have received the names. They are the following. Back row (left to right): Teacher Alice Anderson (now Alice Brandau), Tamara Prell, Carolyn Purpus, Richard Brandau, Roger Martin, Richard Martin, Janice Denter and Ivan Short. Front row: Lorraine Purpus, Dennis Denter, Duane Switz, Sonja Prell, Clarence “Butch” Martin, Diane Switz, Marilyn Purpus, David Brandau and Harlan Martin.
