Our neighbors seem to be enjoying a close-to-home existence these days, as they haven’t been responding to my calls, or when I do talk to them, they are content to hibernate during these warmer days. So I guess most of the news will again be from me and the gals on the west end of the valley. So, here goes.

Last week was a busy one in the neighborhood, and I can’t think of any interesting twaddle, so I’ll get right to the news, beginning with the folks just east of me.
Gene Moran was raised on a farm near Soldiers Grove, Wis. He wanted to get away from the farm, and he wanted to fly. Perhaps unfortunately, World War II gave him that opportunity. We would likely not know that except for a social studies teacher and an overheard conversation.
