Ontario Public Library has take-and-make kits

By APRIL ARNDT | Ontario Public Library director

Stop by the Ontario Public Library and pick up a December take-and-make kit. This month’s kit includes winter-themed crafts and activities for kids. Pick one up while supplies last!

Join our monthly group that meets to watch movies based on books. We’ll watch “To Kill a Mockingbird” on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 5:30 p.m. in the library basement. Copies of the book can be checked out at the library. Participants are not required to read the book to attend!

The library will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Remember that the outside book drop and external Wi-Fi are always available. Have a great holiday season!

We’d like to extend a gracious thank you to all the community members who took the time to stop by Friday for our holiday sale. We had a great turnout! The library staff would also like to thank the library board members and Ontario Knit Wits for baking goodies and making handmade items for the sale. We appreciate your time and talents!

Our holiday silent auction and holiday drawing ended Saturday. Sadie Knoll won the holiday drawing and gets to take home a handmade Christmas tree. The following people had the highest bids on the holiday silent-auction baskets:  kitchen basket, Joette Palen; game-night basket No. 1, Bernie Kelly; game-night basket No. 2, Phyllis Winkler; and wall hanging, Gina Rae.
