Ontario Public Library closed for Memorial Day weekend

By APRIL ARNDT | Ontario Public Library director

The Ontario Public Library will be closed Saturday, May 29, and Monday, May 31, for Memorial Day weekend. Have a safe holiday weekend.

Stop by Palen Park on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. for story time! Children and caregivers are invited to join us for stories and activities. We’ll host story time on May 19 and May 26. We’ll practice social distancing. We recommend families bring chairs or blankets to sit on. We’ll post on our Facebook page (facebook.com/OntarioPublicLibrary) and on the front door of the library if we must cancel due to bad weather. If you have questions about this event, please call (608) 337-4651.

Help us celebrate #makermay by signing up for a FREE Creativebug account during May! Go to ontariolibrary.wrlsweb.org and click on the Creativebug logo on the home page to get started. Sign up in May and be entered in a drawing for an amazing kit that contains a variety of art supplies, including a dot journal and embroidery hoop!

Mark your calendars! Our summer reading program starts Wednesday, June 9, at 1 p.m. in the shelter at Firemen’s Park. Those from ages 4–12 are invited to join us for fun activities and a light snack.

We’re seeking applicants for the position of library assistant, which calls for 15 hours a week, including some evening and Saturday hours. You may contact the library for a complete job description. Resumes and cover letters can be emailed to the library at ontlibr@wrlsweb.org. The position will remain open until filled.
