This year’s Halloween coloring contest winner at the Ontario Public Library is Charlie Parr! He did a great job showcasing his coloring talents.
We had two winners this year for the Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin Contest: Eliana Milleman and Alaric Winchell! The big pumpkin weighed in at 157.4 pounds, and both Eliana and Alaric had the closest guess of 150 pounds. Congratulations!

The True-Crime Book Group will meet Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. in the library basement to discuss “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America” by Erik Larson. According to the author’s website, this book is “about the architect who led the construction of the great Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, and the prolific serial killer who used the fair as a lure. Just blocks from the fairgrounds, the killer built a hotel of horrors equipped with an acid vat, dissection table and crematorium.”
Pick up a copy at the circulation desk today, and join us in November to discuss this strangely fascinating moment in history!
