Contributed by Lynette Vlasak— If you have been to Kendall lately, perhaps you have seen this addition to Kendall’s Central Park. A deer statue has been placed in the park in memory of Robert “Bob” Braund, who was killed in a fall on his property March 26, 2014.

In addition to running his carpentry and farming business, Bob was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. This memorial in Central Park is a very fitting tribute to a person who had a far-reaching impact on the Kendall area community. Central Park’s gazebo was built by Bob and his building crew.

Bob’s parents are Don and Caroline Braund of Kendall, and this statue is a gift from them and other members of the Braund family.
